The Loose Moose String Band

Well hello there Remixers,
We are coming to the end of our killer line up blog updates (try and say that 5 times!) But don't worry we still have the rest of the week to introduce some of our SOLO ARTISTS, WALKABOUT ACTS and DJS....wooo!!

But for the time being lets focus on another one of our spectacular bands, the wonderfully named, The Loose Moose String Band.

They describe themselves as "a gang of good time music loving fools from Liverpool" and any self confessed fool we love here at LRF!

Getting inspiration from Bluegrass, Old Time, Western Swing, Rock and Roll and 80's pop classic this band will without fail get you on your feet and dancing.

They tell tales of decadence and deviance, from murderous tangos to merry sea shanties. And there'll be dancing...Oooooh there'll be dancing!...."

Here is how perhaps contraption have been described...

"The Mobile Device - A Radical Art-Marching Band; a roving lung & percussion-powered assault. Regurgitating swing & deeply danceable wonky pop; songs are peppered with jubilant horns, choral vocals & Dada-fuelled theatricals.

... Rock in Opposition - Meticulously ma-thematic avant-rock, psychedelic excursions & blistering free improvisation. Drawing upon Progressive roots, Fluxus & Maximalism; a spontaneous musical tentacle infused with the humour & tragedy of today’s detritus.

Anti-Folk - Finger-picked guitar, gentle / absurd confessions & weaved woodwind instrumentals.
Live performances are often peddled by Squier Squier & Susie Showers; combining comedy, poetry and multi-instrumental intricacies. From a manifesto for the sandwich to questions about your orgasms, intimate warblings and whiffs of English whimsy are abound."

Remixers, what a good line up aye! I think a pat on the back is deserved. Following on our tradition here is a little something something on another Acoustic Boutique and London Remixed crackin' artists....URUSEN! 

"Described by BBC Introducing (Bristol) as one of their festival highlights of the Summer, and predicted by the music industry’s magazine Music Week as “destined to make an impact in the years to come” Urusen combine elements of British indie-folk with great contemporary American bands like Midlake and The National, as they shift between something intrinsically English, yet akin to the midwest.

With an eclectic array of mostly acoustic instruments and a lyrical, story-telling signature to their songs, Urusen take their audience on an epic musical journey. Previously selected as a highlight pick by the The Independent in their top ten gigs of the week, described as 'Sweepingly memorable' by Metro and as 'Terrifically atmospheric' by the Telegraph, the band were spotted in 2010 by renowned UK producer Steve Osborne (KT Tunstall, Elbow, Cat’s Eyes) and have since recorded an album at Peter Gabriel’s Realworld Studios, which they are looking to release at the turn of 2011/2012.

Over the summer of 2011 they have been touring in the UK and have performed at festivals including The Big Chill, Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Winterwell and Wychwood, where they were recently chosen to perform on the BBC Introducing stage at the festival."

Franky and The Jacks

Our next great act on our ever increasing (and pretty damn awesome!) line up is FRANKY AND THE JACKS

"Set within the walls of the wailing harmonica and the screeching fiddle the sometimes dark and often caustic lyrics belie the foot stomping swing of the double bass and guitar. Here is where comedy and tragedy meet head on to deliver a full spirited testament to Franky and the Jacks’ one and only mantra…“Make ‘em dance”
